It's the only place I've been where you have to pay a fee beforehand in case you oversleep, you have to remove your bed's linen and you're not offered any free tea or coffee. Apart from that they seem not able to handle their own bookings, so when we got there our room was being used by other people, at least they agreed on a full refund.

Great value for the money - clean and comfy. I enjoyed hanging out with the other guests in the shared areas. It's a cool old house and makes for the perfect base to explore the South Coast on a budget.

The place is probably good for late teens or early twenties for the rest you can get a motel room for 10 extra dollars and you'll get out of trouble.

Nice hostel with dorms and private rooms at reasonable rates. More than in Melbourne, which is why it lost a star. But free wifi, a nice kitchen, and a living room with a big screen tv. It can house up to about 15. A group can rent out the whole place. There are two refrigerators for guest use, and lots of dishes and glasses. Laundry is $5 per load. The parking lot is small but probably adequate. The owners are very friendly and helpful with local information. It's walkable, a few blocks, from plenty of food. It all seems clean and nice. It can fill up during busy season and on weekends, but on a random weekday in October it was available for same-day booking by phone. There are nice common spaces, including a couple of lounge areas and a big open kitchen.
